Visit the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre and find out just what it was like to travel on the narrow gauge railways of County Donegal. Stretching from Derry and Strabane to Glenties and Ballyshannon, the County Donegal Railway provided the essential transport for farmers and fishermen, businessmen and builder’s housewives and schoolchildren. The Donegal Railway Heritage Centre, which included an historical presentation artefacts and shop is dedicated to reawakening interest in Donegal's railway past.
The museum features a working model railway, over 2000 digitised photos of the railway indexed and viewable on a computer, and a simulator which allows visitors to drive a steam train though Barnesmore Gap!
Open: April-May, Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm; June-Sep, Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm, Sat from 11am and Sun from 2pm.
